"Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it"

    ~ Buddha ~

We wish you a fruitful and spiritually refreshing Vesak Day to those of you who celebrate it. We hope you had a great time with your family and friends.

It was fun to draw this little monk sketch. I used Copic Marker, Pen Marker and Gel roll pens. For the little monk's outline I used 0.4 Black Pen Marker. I used Gell Roll pens for the sentiments and Lotus flowers. As for the rest of it I used Copic Marker. It's quite simple and does not take a long time to make. I'm sure you can draw this at home too on your spare time :)

See you soon and Take Care!

    Love,
    Ika

    Hello friends!

    Hope you're doing well.
For the past few days, I've been making simple packaging for my bracelets.
I'm using scissors, krafts paper, twill tape, magnets, double tape foam and cloth. I make pocket cloth to keep the bracelet and also to reduce plastic usage.

    Below is the result:

Use A4 size kraft paper, measure the space for the bracelets.
Score the paper depending on the size of the packaging you need. Make sure that it covers the height of the bracelets too. Cut the excess on every sides of the papers and form the edges as desired.
I put the bracelets inside a cloth pocket.
Then close the package by folding each side carefully.

I printed a label and stick it on front of the package using double tape foam. Measure and cut the twill tape, glue it on the back and pull it to the front. Stick small piece of magnetic sheet on the edge of the twill tape. The magnet on top side is longer than the one below, it's made so it can still move depending on the bracelets thickness. Glue the excess of twill tape on the edge so it won't messy.

Slip the twill tape beneath the label so magnets on the edges can meet to secure the package.

Voila, the package is done and my bracelets are ready to be shipped! :)

Thank you very much for taking your time in reading my post!

    Have a great weekend all!

    Hi friends,

This month is about storing my crafts stuff by using any kind of storage that I have. As you know, my crafts room is not fancy and I promise to keep all my crafts stuff as tidy as I can but with very tiny small budget and the most important thing is to be able to find what I need as quickly and as easy as possible :P

So, I finally have a storage for my ribbons at least for now until I can purchase the best one :) I'm using a SPICE RACK. Well, since I don't use this rack so I think it's best for me to use it as ribbon holder. And the good thing is that is has something like a small bars where I can slip each ribbons into it, and just pull it off whenever I need it. Ofcourse I still have to use my two hands to keep it in place so it doesn't fall out when I pull it. And I think it is also best if you can put a spacer for each ribbons so it doesn't pull off one another OR you can install a small stick to hold the ribbons.

As for my findings.. I have some findings, buttons etc. I decide to use CARTRIDGE STORAGE. I have been collecting this for months which I got from my previous office :) These are cartridge storage from Canon printer. It has small space that fits for small findings.. you can also paint them if you want but I prefer to keep it white. I put them in one container and since it has same sizes I can fill them in one container and put another container on top. The best thing is I can easily get it using my fingers or tweezers would be great too.

And lastly that all of you already know, is I'm using TAPE HOLDER to store my findings too. You can paint it or cover them in paper so it looks more attractive but for me, I just leave them as it is so I can write my finding codes on it and maybe later when I'm in the mood, I will decorate it :)

That's all and I'm off for a little trip to Ubud now with my family.
Have a great weekend everyone! :)

    Hello friends,

Hope you're doing fine! Well, you know how much I love to recycle :D So on this lovely morning, I just like to upload my ideas on turning a small envelope into a big envelopes :) Yep, it's very simple hehe.. This is actually very useful for me to press my expense on purchasing big envelopes. Therefore, I have been collecting small envelopes which I got from my friends or families, this way I can also recycle them but still use its function as envelopes :)

    BEFORE

     AFTER

I made big envelopes by breaking all small envelopes and use their blank part on the inside. Attached and glued them one by one, depending on how big I want them to be. Making some cut as needed and voila, I got a big envelope hehe.. Ofcourse I can draw this blank parts but I leave it blank so it is easy for me to write down the address. These envelopes are very useful for me if I have to pack big documents.

You can try this at home too to safe expenses :)
    Happy Weekend!

    Hello Everyone!!

It's been long time since the last time I updated my blog.. I've been busy at work and at home enjoying motherhood hehe.. And I have to postpone my drawing hobby since my pen tip tablet is broken.. so must save some money before I can get the new one :P

Also I'm so sorry that I had missed Easter Day, although I know it's too very late but I wish you had a great day celebrating the Easter with all of your family and friends!

Well, today I cannot write much, just want to upload one of my latest creations which I made months ago :P I have so many leftover papers and I decided to make crib toys for my baby daughter. It's very simple and easy to make.. good for those who love budget friendly toys hehe.. Actually you can make it out of material such as felt or cloth, but for me I love using leftover paper :) One thing that I really enjoy is that my baby loves it very much and that is the most important thing for me hehe..

Ok, this is all for now, if you'd like to see the tutorial, you can find it HERE.

Take care everyone and enjoy your crafting day!! :)

Hello Everyone! I hope you're all enjoying your weekend :)

This week, I'm making a very easy book marker. The only reason I have is to reuse left over acetate/plastic from cotton packaging. I've been using cotton for cosmetic although not so often. But then, since I have a baby I've been purchasing cosmetic cotton for few packs every month. So, the result is that I'm getting so many acetate junks from the cotton packaging which I'm happy with it :)

You can find an acetate/plastic on top and on the bottom of the packaging to hold the cotton. And luckily, they're clean, strong and with perfect cut :) Now I have so many of them, I can use them for my paper crafts project, cards etc. I will share with you if I make other projects using this plastic.

Today, I'm just making a book marker from the acetate using some rub-on which I bought few years ago. You can find the tutorial HERE. I don't find rub-on anymore here, not in a book store or local crafts store! It's so sad actually!! Rub-on is so helpful and very useful especially if you need quick and easy project and the great thing is that it's clean and no mess!! :) I love rub-on and here we call it rugos :) I found these rub-on in a local book store at my hubby's village which is in another island :P I am so sad to find them piled up among other accessories. And it's so clear that not many people even look or touch it!! That's why I chose some images and bought them right away!! It feels like having a reunion with an old friend :) I left the store with a very happy feeling but also sad, I wish I could see that rub-on again!

I'm entering this book marker on the following challenge:

    Hello everyone! How’s your weekend?
I hope you are enjoying it and having fun with any kind of crafts project that have this week :)

Today I’m uploading another card that I made using scraps of newspaper and cover of old magazine.. This project is just a fun way to play with stuff that are spreading around my house ..

I’m using old newspaper, old cover magazine, thread and some matches.. these are stuff that most of us have but very easy to forget :) I’m not a “green freak” yet but I do love to recycle leftover stuff..
And instead of throwing them out, it would be great if we can turn it into a useful thing.. Since I love card making so I will use them to make a simple greeting card.. And I put the tutorial HERE.

I’m entering this card to the following challenges:

Anything Goes ~ Challenges 4 Everybody

Hope you like it and enjoy this beautiful Sunday :) See you!

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all doing fine.

It’s been eleven days since we left 2012.. has anyone started to work on your resolution yet? As for myself, my resolution this year is simply is to finish my resolutions from last year and the years before hehe..
Well, as a start to welcome this new year I tidy up all the mess in my bedroom by purchasing a big drawer :) yes, I need a drawer to compile my crafts item.. And am so happy that I can see them all in good arrangement (although this is far from perfect)! Well, we moved to our house about a year ago and for now we only have two bedrooms: one is for our main bedroom and baby and another one is used by my mom which is also functioned as my crafts storage and my hubby’s bikes accessories. So we really have to make sure that everything is neat and organized and must be wiser not to purchase more items coz no more space for newcomer :P

I keep all my scrap papers and things in few different containers. I keep all gifts from my family and friends in a special box. I separate all scraps from magazines, old greeting cards, paper waste, paper wrap, blank paper, plastics etc into few containers. I hang CD-ROMs, ribbons, clear stamps and embossed folder collections thus to make it easier for me to find them. I put my scissors, crafts knives, stapler and those crafts tools in one open container so I can easily grab them all whenever I need. There’s a good thing to not have so many tools so I don’t need much space to store them hehe so for now, I’m still using empty jam bottles for coloring pencils and pens :) I keep all my small accessories such as charms, embellishments, buttons etc in closed plastic containers. Other materials such as dried spices (yes, I keep them too :P), pebble, snail shells and scallop shells are kept in closed bottles :)

What about my work space? Well, the floor is where I used to dance with my crafts tools :) I don’t have craft desk yet (which is still on my bucket list hehe) And that’s why I put all my tools on the bottom of the drawer so I can reach them easily. As for my work desk I’m still using our living room table beside our television and so every time we invite our friends in, I have to clear the living room and unplugged every cables before they come :) Thanks to my hubby who never complain about this condition hehe..

Now that everything seems so organized (at least from my point of view :D) I think I’m ready to embrace new year with new ideas and spirit! It’s always exciting when you’re looking at your crafts drawer and see those colorful materials is well organized! But of course, as you already know this will not last for days and that’s why I took this photo to memorized it :D So how about you? Have you organized your crafts drawer yet? If you haven’t then do it right away, take a photo and then enjoy the view before you mess it up again :)

    HI Everyone,

Hope you're enjoying your weekend :) Mine is gonna be ended within few hours. I must say that this has been really exhausting weekend for me! I managed to clean all the mess at my house :P and found  stacks of scraps papers that I compiled with deep intention to use them all someday :P Well, I then took the time to use it at least for one project. So I ended up choosing label papers scraps. You see, when I made wedding invitations, I printed out the address of receivers on sticker label papers and I have many of them that were rejected because the results of the printing was bad or wrong. And as always, I didn't have the heart to throw them away as I can still use the back of the paper to write notes or even to make a sketch.

Then I decided to make a notebook out of these scraps sticker label papers for my weekend project :P as I didn't have much time to make it so I took a simple way by using the Microsoft Word program :) And below is the result.  The clipart and border are available on the word program and I put a sentiment from one of my quotes collections.

You can find a very easy and very simple tutorial to create the notes book cover on this link. A big thank you to Asma (AI Factory) who had requested me to make a tutorial! It's a great honor, dear! :) Oh, make sure you also check out other tutorials on AI Factory Graphic Blog, there are so many of them :)

Sooo, back to these sticker label papers, next time if you have them, don't throw away, you can recycle them by using the back of the papers again as writing pad or sketch paper :) Okay, I'm off to bed now! Coz am so sleepy and my note book has filled with many things to do for the next six days hehe.. yeah, at least I have got something to do although my hands are soo tired :P

Thank you for reading all and see you soon! :)
    Warmest Hugs

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all having a great weekend!

Myself, I had a good time cleaning up my house this weekend and glad I got a help from my hubby  :) and now I’m just preparing myself for work day tomorrow! Yep, I’ve got tons of things to do on my list but before the morning comes, I'd like to upload my post! :)

Glad that this weekend I had a little time to make a small gift box from my scraps papers and double tape container (I’m not sure what to say in English, I hope it’s correct). I’m using sunflower seed shell (now I hope I’m writing this correctly too). I like eating sunflower seed for snack and love it too much that it had succeeded drying my lips :P Not only I like the taste but I also like the shell too, eh, not for snacks. I like the shell because of its uniqueness and also because I don’t have the heart to throw it away :P

sunflower seed shell and acrylic paints

    double tape (scrap container)

So to make these shell and scraps useful, I made this small gift box using the sunflower seed shell which has been colored by acrylic paint (I don’t have oil paints but I’m sure it will work better), scrap light blue card paper, green satin ribbon, and colorbox inkpad for the leaves images. If you don’t have sunflower seed, you can also use macadamia nut shell or something similar with it that you may find on your kitchen or garden..

Thank you for visiting me here and happy crafting and working! :)
    Love you all!
